International workshop on merging state-of-the-art plasma science into novel technologies
May 14 – 16, 2008, Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Scope
After the success in 2006 of the International Center of Excellence Forum on Plasma Science and
Technology, held in Potsdam, Germany, the International Plasma Center
of Excellence Network will organize from May 14 until May 16, 2008, an international workshop
on how state-of-the-art plasma science can lead to novel (plasma-) technologies. To establish
this, invited speakers will present papers discussing studies of the fundamentals of plasma
science and technology, obtained through developments in modeling and diagnostics, as well as the
novel plasma technologies that have emerged from these studies. The meeting will be organized
along three main themes:
- Fundamentals of plasma science and technology,
- Emerging plasma technologies for material processing,
- Developments in plasma modeling and diagnostics.
The three themes together will ‘naturally’ show how fundamental knowledge of plasma science
can, and inevitably will, lead to novel (plasma-) technologies.

The workshop will be held in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The city can easily be reached by
public transport, and three international airports (Amsterdam, Dusseldorf and Brussels) are
close. The workhop place is the
"Academisch Genootschap", Parklaan 93, 5613 BC Eindhoven,
which is in walking distance to the train station and the university.
